Now that spring is officially here, we’re ready to welcome a new season of fun here in Paso Robles. Just as the days get longer and wildflowers are in bloom, Paso Robles comes alive with a wide range of events and celebrations worth taking part in. Here’s what’s happening in Paso Robles this April and May:
April 6 – 7: 11th Annual Wine 4 Paws
What better way to drink wine than for a good cause? Almost 100 wineries will be participating in the 11th Annual Wine 7 Paws. This event is dedicated to making a difference for homeless pets in need of shelter and loving homes. Taste wine and beer, sample olive oil, and nibble on gourmet food from two restaurants—it’s your chance to help homeless pets, one glass at a time.
April 13 – 14: Art in the Park
Art enthusiasts won’t want to miss descending upon Paso Robles’ City Park for Art in the Park. It showcases paintings, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and crafts. Stop by the exhibitor booths to admire the work, or pick up a gift for a loved one at this daytime event. Are in the Park celebrates the talents of local artisans and makers.
The place to be on April 27 is Downtown City Park, when the city hosts this nostalgic event. It’s complete with arts, crafts, vintage sidecars and antique motorcycles. From 9am – 3pm, come see the pre-1950s era vintage sidecars and peruse unique antiques in the vendor booths. It’s a historic look into the past that the whole family will enjoy.
Paso Robles may be known for its wine grapes, the climate is perfectly suited to growing olives, as well. During the 16th Annual Olive Festival, taking place in Downtown City Park, the entire day is dedicated to all things olive. From 10am – 5pm, sample locally-made olive oil, watch demonstrations and even an olive cooking contest. When hunger strikes, stroll through Culinary Row to taste treats from local artisans. This includes not-to-be-missed olive oil ice cream. And be sure to check out the mobile olive press for a glimpse into how olive oil is made.
May 16 – 19: 37th Annual Paso Wine Fest
This four-day celebration of Paso Robles wine is a great way to experience the diversity of the region in your glass. Now in its 37th year, the festival kicks off with various winemaker dinners at area restaurants, followed by a Reserve Wine Event on Friday, where select wineries will feature their library, reserve and futures wines accompanied by local gourmet eats. The fun continues with an educational seminar on Saturday, as well as a Grand Tasting in City Park. More than 70 wineries will be on hand to pour their wines, sharing everything from Bordeaux-style wines to Burgundian and Italian varieties, and everything in between. Paso Wine Fest promises to be a wine-fueled weekend to remember.
