«Return to Blog List Celebrate the Harvest in Paso Robles Wine Country

You can see it in the bursts of vibrant gold and crimson colors, smell it in the aromas of ripening fruit and crushed grapes, and feel it in the cool, early morning air – Harvest season is in full swing in Paso Robles Wine Country. And for wine enthusiasts, winemakers and vineyard caretakers, it’s the most active and exciting time of year.

The celebration of Harvest season begins with a flurry of activity! Mechanical harvesters or vineyard hands quickly pick the grapes and place them in bins that are transported to the cellars of eager winemakers. The anticipation is palpable as the fruit is crushed and prepared for the next great vintage.

These fall scenes take center stage in Wine Country. Special events at wineries abound, with winemaker lunches and dinners, seminars, concerts and the biggest celebration of them all: Paso Robles’ Harvest Wine Weekend.

Visiting Wine Country during the height of its activity is already pretty exciting, but the celebratory Harvest Wine Weekend, October 14th-16th, offers special events that are as diverse as the wineries themselves. Visitors can explore more than 140 activities that include winemaker dinners, ceremonial grape stomps, barrel tastings, artisanal food pairings, live music and more!
