November
1

After a frenetic flurry of harvesting, crushing, and pressing, Paso Robles wine grapes have been squeezed of their magical juice and left to rest peacefully in aged barrels, leaving winemakers to patiently await their next great vintage. It’s a turn of the season that offers a more relaxing time in Wine Country amid the cooler weather and evolving fall colors.
With fewer tourists to attend to, staff and winery purveyors are more available to tasting room visitors in November, the vibe is easy-going, and everyone’s in the mood to chat. It’s a great month to explore Paso’s world-class restaurants, sample award-winning wines, and catch the holiday spirit. Celebrate the best of the season in Paso Robles Wine Country!

Garagiste Wine Festival | Paso Robles Event Center | Nov 11th - 13th
The 6th Annual Garagiste Wine Festival returns to its original birthplace with three days of events that feature over 60 micro-production winemakers pouring over 200 wines and a bounty of unique blends and varieties.
“Garagiste” was originally used in the Bordeaux region of France as a derogatory term to define the renegade, small-lot wine makers who refused to follow the “rules.” Now, as a full-fledged movement that has exploded over the past five years, Garagistes enjoy a more distinguished reputation as commercial artisan winemakers who handcraft under 1,500 cases a year.
Taking place at the Ponderosa Pavilion at the Paso Robles Fairgrounds and other Paso Robles-area locations, this year’s festival shines a spotlight firmly on the region’s wide range of varieties and unique blends. New events this year include educational and tasting seminars like, “Illegal Blends!” featuring local winemakers unbounded by traditional methods, a Grand Tasting, a “Rare and Reserve” Opening Round, a Rocking After-Party, and more.

The Festival offers attendees high-quality wines, first time and “soon-to-break-out” discoveries, personal winemaker interaction, and a renegade and fun-loving spirit. The non-profit festival supports a special scholarship fund for the Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture program. Click here for the complete schedule and ticket information.
